PLM: Design Color - What To Do: When I Can't Add a Color to a Design
When trying to add a color to a design, you may run into a challenge where it seems you cannot add a color. It will look like below: Detail Image: This does NOT mean that the color cannot be added to the design. Instead this is telling us that the color is ALREADY added to the design and that the color is set to INACTIVE. What we need to do is change the design color from "INACTIVE" to "ACTIVE." Please follow the below steps to change the design color from "INACTIVE" to "ACTIVE." Steps: 1. From the Design > Color section, click "Filter" 2. Next, change the field Active from "Active" to "Inactive." Then click "Apply Filter." 3. Once you click "Apply Filter," you will be brought to below screen. From here change the "Active Status" from "Inactive" to "Active" for the colors you would like associated with the design: 4. Once complete, click the Design > Color section. You will be brought back to screen below where only "Active" colors will be visible. Process is complete.

PLM: Design Color - Removing Color(s) from a Design
As of February 15, 2024. There will be instances when a color(s) needs to be "removed" from a design. Technically, we will not be removing colors from designs, instead we will be "hiding" colors we do not want to see. The way we hide design colors, is by making the design color "INACTIVE." An "INACTIVE" design color WILL NOT adopt from PLM to Exenta. Please follow below steps in order to make a design color "INACTIVE." Steps: 1. Select "COLORS" section within a design. 2. Identify the color you would like to make "INACTIVE." 3. Under the column named "ACTIVE," click the toggle so that the white dot slides and the color changes from green to grey. 4. The design color is now "INACTIVE."

PLM: Design Color - Design [Color] Status
The design color “Design Status” field will be utilized to capture the most up to design information. *Changing this field will only change the field at the design color level. This field will be utilized to drive STYLE COLOR STATUS in Exenta via design adoption/ re-adoption. This field will be utilized across the PLM system to help us filter through our designs. This field will also be utilized by many teams to help us accurately and quickly generate reports & charts in/ from PLM. Who is responsible for editing the “Design Status”? Keep design color as "In Progress," unless colorway is added at market or dropped after initial design adoption. If a design color is is added to a design at market, PD to change design color status to "In Progress (Added At Market)" for the new design color only. If a design color is dropped during SMS stage and the design has already been pushed to Exenta, Merchandising Team to change status to "Dropped (During SMS)." If a design color is dropped during proto stage, PD to make the color INACTIVE. (A design color should never have the design status set to "Dropped (During Proto).")
