PLM: Building Out BOMs in PLM - Step By Step: PROTO DEVELOPMENT BOM
Steps to take when building out a PROTO DEVELOPMENT BOM: 1. Identify the design you will be working in. On the Design > Colors Section: 2. Associate the PROTO SAMPLE COLOR (W0153), or a specific color for proto sample, with the design. On the Design> BOMs Section: 3. Create a NEW BOM and name it "PROTO DEVELOPMENT" On the "MATERIALS" TAB of BOM: 4. Add the materials to the PROTO DEVELOPMENT BOM. 5. Add the "Yield/ QTY" (QTY ONLY) to all materials under the material types: Label & Packaging Trims On the "COLORS" TAB of BOM: 6. Associate material colors with the materials on the BOM. Your BOM is now ready to be included in your tech pack.

PLM: Building Out BOMs in PLM - Step By Step: SMS DEVELOPMENT BOM
Steps to take when building out a SMS DEVELOPMENT BOM: OPTION 1: 1. Identify the design you will be working in. On the Design > Colors Section: 2. Associate the SMS SAMPLE COLOR(S) with the design. If SMS SAMPLE COLOR is different than the PROTO SAMPLE COLOR, associate the SMS SAMPLE COLOR(S) with the design. Then make the PROTO SAMPLE COLOR inactive (see below "INACTIVE" design color.) If SMS SAMPLE COLOR is same as the PROTO SAMPLE COLOR leave as is and go to OPTION 2. On the Design> BOMs Section: 3. Create a NEW BOM and name it "SMS DEVELOPMENT" On the "MATERIALS" TAB of BOM: 4. Add the materials to the SMS DEVELOPMENT BOM. 5. Add the "Yield/ QTY" (QTY ONLY) to all materials, except material types: Yarns Fabrics Linings Interlinings On the "COLORS" TAB of BOM: 6. Associate material colors with the materials on the BOM. Your BOM is now ready to be included in your tech pack. OPTION 2: 1. Then make the PROTO SAMPLE COLOR inactive. Then go to OPTION 1. If SMS SAMPLE COLOR is same as the PROTO SAMPLE COLOR leave as is. On the Design> BOMs Section: 3. Copy from "PROTO DEVELOPMENT" BOM and rename the new BOM "SMS DEVELOPMENT" To Copy a BOM, click the button "", and select "Copy" To Rename a BOM, click the button "", and select "Edit" Once you select "Edit", you will be brought to below screen where you can rename the BOM. Please ensure you have the "SMS COLORWAYS" checked in blue (as imaged below.) Then select "Save & Close" On the "MATERIALS" TAB of BOM: 4. Add the materials to the SMS DEVELOPMENT BOM. (Materials from "copied" BOM will already be in the new BOM.) 5. Add the "Yield/ QTY" (QTY ONLY) to all materials, except material types: Yarns Fabrics Linings Interlinings On the "COLORS" TAB of BOM: 6. Associate material colors with the materials on the BOM (as needed.) If garment color for SMS is same as PROTO color, color will already be filled in at the material Your BOM is now ready to be included in your tech pack. Please note it is the Product Development Team's responsibility to "APPROVE" the SMS DEVELOPMENT BOM before the BOM Review Meeting. Before APPROVING SMS DEVELOPMENT BOM, all materials & material colors, QTY, Placement & BOM Comments Columns should be filled out correctly reflecting SMS Sample. * Note re. sub colors: If a sub color is used on a SMS due to availability, color for production should be updated before SMS DEVELOPMENT BOM is approved.

PLM: Building Out BOMs in PLM - Step By Step: PRODUCTION BOM
Steps to take when building out a PRODUCTION BOM: 1. Identify the design you will be working in. On the Design > Colors Section: 2. Ensure the PRODUCTION COLOR(S) are associated with the design. On the Design> BOMs Section: 3. On the "SMS DEVELOPMENT" BOM, ensure: - The PRODUCTION COLOR(S) are associated with the design. - The "SMS DEVELOPMENT" BOM is approved. 4. Once above is confirmed, copy from "SMS DEVELOPMENT" BOM and rename the new BOM "PRODUCTION" To Copy a BOM, click the button "", and select "Copy" To Rename a BOM, click the button "", and select "Edit" Once you select "Edit", you will be brought to below screen where you can rename the BOM. Please ensure you have the "COLORWAYS" checked in blue (as imaged below.) Then select "Save & Close" You will then be brought to the materials tab of the new "PRODUCTION" BOM. On the "MATERIALS" TAB of BOM: 4. Add/ remove materials (as needed) to the PRODUCTION BOM. (Materials from "copied" BOM will already be in the new BOM.) 5. Add the "Yield/ QTY" to all materials on BOM, ensuring all information is correct. (Ensure UOM is correct on each material line.) 6. Add the "Responsibility" data in for each material line. This indicates who is responsible for purchasing this material for this design. On the "COLORS" TAB of BOM: 7. Associate material colors with the materials on the BOM (as needed.) If garment color(s) & materials for PRODUCTION BOM is same as SMS color(s), color will already be filled in at the material line. Once you have checked over the PRODUCTION BOM, and all information is correct the BOM is complete & ready to be approved.

PLM: Building Out BOMs in PLM - Step By Step: APPROVING A BOM
For all styles that move into production, SMS DEVELOPMENT BOMs and PRODUCTION BOMs will need to be "approved." Please help to follow steps in order to approve a BOM. 1. Identify the design you will be working in. 2. On the Design> BOMs Section, click the button "", and select "Approve": You have now successfully APPROVED the BOM.
