PLM: Building Out BOMs in PLM - PROTO & SMS DEVELOPMENT BOMs - Material Color "MATCH COLOR TO: SEE BOM COMMENTS"
When associating material colors on the color tab of a PROTO or SMS DEVELOPMENT BOM, and when the material color is TBD/TBC but you can indicate a color from elsewhere on the BOM to match that material color to, use the color (M0149) "MATCH COLOR TO: SEE BOM COMMENTS". When you use this color, indicate the color to match the material to under the "BOM COMMENTS" column on the BOM material tab. By SMS DEVELOPMENT BOM scrub & pass off (from PD Team to Production Team), all correct material colors must be associated with materials and associated with correct design color on BOM. The material color (M0149) "MATCH COLOR TO: SEE BOM COMMENTS" is NOT to be used when passing BOMs to Production Team. PLM: Building Out BOMs in PLM - BOM Material Entry - Allocate 1 BOM Line Per 1 Material Per Material Color Per Design Colorway
When adding materials to a BOM, it is best practice to allocate 1 BOM line per 1 material per 1 material color for each design colorway. For example: CORRECT: (Style No. 2407PO4421081) 1 BOM Line (Per Material + Per Material Color + Per Design Colorway) 1 Material (Per Material Color + Per Design Colorway) 1 Material Color (Per Design Colorway) 1 Design Colorway CORRECT: (Style No. 2406LN00221059) 1 BOM Line (Per Material + Per Material Color + Per Design Colorway) 1 Material (Per Material Color + Per Design Colorway) 1 Material Color (Per Design Colorway) 2 Design Colorway INCORRECT: (Style No. 2407PO4421081) 2 BOM Line 1 Material 1 Material Color 1 Design Colorway

PLM: Building Out BOMs in PLM - BOM Material Entry - What to do when a material is only to be used for 1 (or some) Design Colorway(s)
When building out a BOM in PLM you may encounter a situation where you wish to only use a material for 1 (or some) Design Colorway(s). When this happens: 1. Add the material to the BOM. 2. Indicate (in BOM COMMENTS Column) which design colorway(s) this material is for. 3. Fill material color for that material under the indicated design colorway(s). For example (style no. 2406LN00260475): *Note how under "BLACK" design colorway, there is no material color indicated for LG037. *Note how under "STONE KHAKI" design colorway, there is no material color indicated for LG031.

PLM: Building Out BOMs in PLM - Associating Material Colors on a BOM
When building out BOMs in PLM, you will need to associate material colors for each material line listed on the BOM. In order to associate material color please follow the below steps. Step 1: Once the materials have been added to the BOM, go to the "COLORS" TAB of a BOM: From here, you should see the Design Colorway(s) at the top of each column at the right side of the BOM. If you see this, go to Step 3. If you do not see the Design Colorway(s) at the top of each column at the right side of the BOM like below image go to Step 2. Step 2: In order for a user to associate material colors for each material line listed on the BOM. We will need to ensure the Design Colorway(s) are "showing" on the BOM. In order to achieve this, click "Hide/Show Colors." Once you click this, below (in red) will pop up. Click the colorway(s) you would like to show on the BOM. Then click "Update." Once you click "Update" you will be brought back to the "Colors" Tab of the BOM. At this stage, we are now ready to associate material colors with each material line of the BOM. Step 3: Click the drop down box under the Design Colorway column, and on the material line, that you would like to "fill a color in." When you do this, a list of all material colors from that material will be available for you to select from. To select, you can either: 1. Scroll through the list until you find what you are looking for, then click. 2. Search for the color by the "Color Name," then click. 3. Search for the color by the "Color Service Number," then click. See below of JY32 Material Color List with searchable terms highlighted: After you complete Step 3, you will have associated the material color on a BOM. PLM: Building Out BOMs in PLM - What To Do: When I Can't Edit A BOM
When attempting to edit a BOM, you may run into a challenge where it seems you cannot EDIT a BOM. It will look like below: If you are normally able to edit BOMs and you run into this challenge, it most likely means the BOM is "APPROVED" and it will need to be changed back to "NOT APPROVED" in order for you to edit the BOM. First check to confirm the BOM is approved. The "Yes" highlighted below indicates the BOM named "PRODUCTION" is approved. Once you confirm the BOM is approved, follow below steps to "Unapprove" BOM: 1. First, on the line of the APPROVED BOM, click the "" button on the right side. 2. This will open a drop down list, where you should then select "UNAPPROVE." Once complete, the BOM will be ready to edit.
